Our Story
“Travel far enough, you meet yourself.”

Beyond Travel: A Journey Within.
Hi, I’m Eleni, and to me, life has always been a grand adventure. Not just a collection of trips to faraway places, but a series of profound moments that have shaped who I am today. With a camera in hand, I’ve wandered the world, constantly searching for beauty in the ordinary—the fleeting, unexpected moments that capture the heart and awaken the soul.
But for me, travel goes far beyond destinations. It’s about transformation. It’s about stepping into new cultures, absorbing the richness of the world around us, and discovering something deeper—not just about the places we visit, but about ourselves. That’s the heart of Xploristas Transformational Travel. It was born from the restless spirit that has driven me to seek out the extraordinary in every journey, and I want to share that with you.
Every Xploristas experience is a carefully curated adventure, blending authentic cultural immersion with moments of introspection and growth. Imagine sharing stories by firelight in remote villages, tasting tradition in family kitchens, or rediscovering joy in the laughter of children playing on a sunlit beach. These are the moments that stay with you—the ones that change how you see the world and your place in it.
The Turning Point: From Traveler to Explorer.
My path changed completely fourteen years ago. I was in the vibrant streets of Cuba, captivated by its raw energy and authenticity. Little did I know, this trip would be the first of many experiences that would change me from the inside out. Then came Africa—wild, untamed, and impossibly beautiful. Africa didn’t just show me new landscapes; it revealed a new version of myself.
In a small village, where electricity was a luxury and life was simple, I discovered something profound. Cold bucket showers, meals straight from the earth, and conversations around a fire with people who had never known the rush of modern life—those were the experiences that transformed my soul. It wasn’t about what I saw; it was about who I became in those moments.
Personal Reflections: Why I Believe in Transformational Travel.
Looking back on my journey, it’s clear that travel isn’t just an escape or a break from the norm—it’s an opportunity to become more. The beauty of transformational travel is that it pushes you to grow in ways you never expected. It challenges your perspective, strips away what’s unnecessary, and reconnects you with what’s real and important.
When I founded Xploristas, I wanted to create a community of travelers who weren’t just looking for the next great photo op, but for something deeper—a journey of the heart, the mind, and the soul. Travel, for me, is an opportunity to reconnect with our humanity, to step out of the daily grind, and to explore who we are in the process of exploring the world.
This is why I pour my heart into curating every experience. I don’t just want you to visit a new country; I want you to walk away changed—more aware, more open, and more connected to yourself and the world around you.
Behind the Scenes: Crafting Meaningful Journeys.
So what does this look like on a practical level? Every Xploristas trip starts with a simple question: What can we learn here? I don’t just look for beautiful destinations; I look for life-changing experiences. I spend months working directly with local guides, families, and communities to make sure our trips go beyond the surface.
I’ve spent time in the kitchens of small family homes, cooking side by side with women who have fed their families the same way for generations. I’ve sat under ancient trees, listening to stories passed down through tribes, and I’ve walked the paths of remote villages that most tourists never get to see. These experiences don’t just make for interesting trips—they make for unforgettable moments that leave a lasting impact on your heart.
Defining Moments: The Stories That Shaped My Journey.
There are moments that stay with you forever. For me, one of those was in Zanzibar, sitting on a beach with children playing barefoot in the sand, completely lost in their world of joy and simplicity. Their laughter echoed across the water as the sun set, and I realized that, in that moment, I was exactly where I needed to be. It’s not just the sights that stick with you—it’s the feeling. The pure, unfiltered connection to a place, to its people, and to yourself.
In another defining moment, I remember the streets of Havana, where life spills out of every corner, where music fills the air, and where the old mixes with the new in a beautiful, chaotic dance. I didn’t just visit Cuba; I lived it. I breathed in its history, its passion, and its resilience. And that’s what I want for every Xploristas traveler—to live the places we visit, not just pass through them.
“Life is what we make it. The journeys are the travelers themselves. What we see is not what we see; it is what we are.”
Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet
